John Greene

John Greene was born in Grand Island. He attended Walnut Jr High School and graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1961.

He joined the Air Force at 17 years old. He served in the Air Force E-4 from July 20, 1961 to September 30,1965. He completed basic training in Lackland, TX and served 1961-1963 in Tripoli, Libya – Africa and 1963-1965 in northern Michigan, USA.

He drove trucks carrying materials that made bombs and shuttles carrying B-52 crews, soldiers, and fallen soldiers.

John married Jan in February 1966. They have two daughters, Jen and Cyndi. Four grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
