First Sergeant Joseph Lee Taylor born in Grand Island, NE. Graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 2000. Enlisted into Active US Army on November 20th, 2001. He attended Basic Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Bliss, Texas.
Upon completion of training, his Military Occupational specialty (MOS) was 14J, Air Defense C4I Tactical Operations Center Enhanced Operator. He was later awarded the MOS of 14H, Air Defense Enhanced Early Warning Systems Operator and Joint Tactical Ground Station Operator (JTAGS). He served four tours overseas including Iraq (OIF/OEF) in 2003, South Korea (JTAGS) in 2006, 2012, 2016.
First Sergeant Taylor retired from the Army on 01 December 2021. While in the military, he earned an Associate’s Degree of Applied Science in General Studies and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He also earned several awards including a Meritorious Service Medal and Joint Service Commendation Medal.
Joseph is married to his wife Casandra of 23 years. They have two wonderful children together. Joseph currently resides in Grand Island with his wife where he enjoys continuing his college education, coaching wrestling, being involved with church and his bible study group, spending time with his family and enjoying retirement.
