Al Gosda, is a Navy veteran and Grand Island resident. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1971. From there, he served in the Navy from 1971-1977. He was married to the late Cindy Gosda for 42 years. They were blessed with two sons Rick (Heather) and Ted (Carisa). Their awesome grandchildren are Madelynn, Molly, Adella, Norah, and Simon.
During Al’s service, he was stationed at Naval Air Station Cecil Field in Jacksonville, Florida. He was a part of two squadrons: VA-174 and VA-83. Al was aboard the USS Forrestal as an Aviation Structural Mechanic (Hydraulics) and toured the Mediterranean Sea. His favorite place he toured was Palma de Mallorca.
After his time in the Navy, he was the Operator and Owner of Gosda’s Car Wash from 1978-2008 and AC Laundry from 1998-2013. He also assisted in managing farm operations. Al is now retired and enjoys his time reading, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.
