Curt Zurcher was born in Bassett, NE, moved to Grand Island when his father transferred with the Nebraska State Patrol and attended local schools graduating from Grand Island Northwest. He entered Air Force active-duty service in Oct 1986, married Michelle (Arends), moved to Japan, where their son, Colton Zurcher was born.
They moved to England and welcomed their daughter Chelsea. Returning stateside in 1997, assignments included Bolling AFB, Ft. Meade/NSA, Incirlik Turkey during Operation Northern Watch, and Osan Korea before his retirement in 2007. As a trained Intelligence Analyst, Curt continued to work for Booz Allen Hamilton and the National Security Agency. He retired, again, in 2021 and continues to serve as the Deputy Chair of the Anne Arundel County (Maryland) Administrative Charging Committee, which oversees five police agencies in the county.
He will begin another career in 2025 as an online adjunct professor for Rogers State University teaching national security-related topics. Curt is now “Opa” to Emma Ann, Wyatt and Maya. Curt and Michelle enjoy time at their cabin in western Maryland. Curt holds Opa Camp when he can during the summer or when illness strikes. He LOVES Husker Football and Volleyball and travels to support at every opportunity.
