David DeLeon

Corporal David DeLeon was born on July 2,1985, in Grand Island, Nebraska to Pete and Colleen DeLeon. He grew up in Grand Island, attending Trinity Lutheran School (K-8) before graduating from Northwest High School in 2004. It was during his junior year of high school that David made a life changing commitment by joining the United States Marine Corps Delayed Entry Program. One week after graduation, he left town for the USMC Recruit Depot in San Diego, CA.

After completing 3 months of bootcamp, David was sent to Camp Johnson in North Carolina for Motor T Mechanic School. Following this training, he was stationed at Camp Kinser in Okinawa, Japan where he serviced, inspected, maintained and repaired motor transport equipment.

In 2006, David was deployed to Iraq and spent 10 months at Camp Al-Taqaddum Air Base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, both on base and out on convoys. Upon returning to the U.S., David finished out his 4-year enlistment at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, CA.

Following his honorable discharge from the Marine Corps, David returned to Grand Island where he began building combines at Case New Holland. He soon met his future wife, Ashley Bellamy, and the two were married on June 9, 2012. In 2015, David established his own construction company and has been managing and growing the business ever since. He and Ashley continue to live in Grand Island with their 3 children: Ava, John and Jack.
