Donald Julesgard was born on July 27, 1944 in St. Paul, NE to Marie and Christian. He and his older brother Paul were raised in Elba and Don graduated in May of 1962.
In July 1965, he was drafted into the US Army and was stationed in Oakland, CA before being sent to serve in the Vietnam War. Don was honorably discharged as an SP5 in May of 1967.
On June 10, 1972, he married the love of his life. Barb and Don made their home in St.Libory and have 2 children, Kevin and Stacy. Don began working for Sperry New Holland in September of 1973 until his retirement in November of 1998.
They were blessed with 6 grandchildren, Connor, Alexis, Spencer, Kylie, Ryan, and Mason. They really enjoyed sharing their love of fishing and hunting with their family.
Don never talked about Vietnam, we know he saw and experienced things that he just could never share. It was truly a lifelong battle for him. Don passed away on January 23, 2020. He is our HERO, and we are a very grateful and proud family of our Vietnam Veteran!
