Jack Zlomke

Jack E. Zlomke was born on November 27, 1926, in Grand Island to Ludwig and Hazel Zlomke. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1944 and served in Okinawa during World War II as a General's Driver.
Jack told his son many stories of his war experience over the years. Returning home in 1946, Jack worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for 39 years and married Virginia Archer in 1948.
He enjoyed birdwatching, woodworking, traveling to 47 states, singing, and volunteering for the Audubon Society. Jack was a member of Faith United Methodist Church since the 1930s and Ashlar 33 AF & AM Masonic Lodge since 1949.
He passed away at age 89 on September 12, 2016, at CHI Health St. Francis.
