LeRoy Redman was born 9/30/1927 and was married for 59 years to Lois Hongsermeier, and they had 5 children. LeRoy was drafted into the Army in February of '46 and was stationed at Ft. Knox, Kentucky and assigned in Field Artillery. He was deployed to Germany in 1946 with C Troop 66th Constabulary as a Patrol Leader.
LeRoy was Honorably dis-charged in April of 1947 and stayed in the reserves until 1950. LeRoy was employed as a security guard at the Silas Mason Ordnance Plant, and then was a Sgt. with the Grand Island Police Department for 23 years. Leroy was proud to receive his GED at the NE Vets Home.
LeRoy was a self-taught natural musician. He loved playing and recording his music with his harmonica. He often played for family, at nursing homes, the vets home, and at his church. He also enjoyed tinkering with antique clocks and refinishing furniture.
