Robert Niemann

Robert was born July 28th 1948 in Grand Island, Nebraska. He received his education from Grand Island Public Schools, graduating from Grand Island Senior High in 1967. Following graduation Robert entered the United States Marine Corp and served three combat missions in Vietnam, earning many awards including two purple hearts. 

After his honorable discharge he returned to Grand Island, married Judy Gallagher and they had three sons. He furthered his education, earning a BA and an MA in Business and Technical Fabrication. Most of his working life was spent in manufacturing. During this time, he served with the 295th Army Reserve Unit in Grand Island. 

Robert finished his career working at Central Community College in Grand Island as an Associate Dean of Trades and Industry. He served on the Grand Island City Council for four years. Robert retired at the age of 65 and spent his retirement camping, hunting, and spending time with his family and dogs. Robert passed away on September 2nd, 2024, at the age of 76.
