Zechariah Gray was born on April 6, 2001, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, to Lindsay Gray, a retired Navy veteran, and Jeremy Gray. Growing up in a military family, Zechariah developed a deep sense of service and discipline. He graduated from Nansemond River High School in Suffolk, Virginia, in 2019, where he excelled academically and athletically, competing in football and wrestling.
On July 14, 2020, Zechariah began his military journey, entering basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. After completing training, he attended technical school at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida, where he specialized in aircraft structural maintenance. Zechariah’s first assignment was at Kadena Air Base in Japan, where he maintained F-15 fighter jets. His career took him on a deployment to Qatar and then to Osan Air Base in South Korea, where he performed structural maintenance on A-10 Warthogs and F-16 Fighting Falcons.
Currently, he is stationed at Aviano Air Base in Italy, where he works on F-16s and HH-60 helicopters. Zechariah is married to Mikenna (Schlachter) Gray, a fellow active duty Air Force member, from Grand Island, Nebraska. The couple welcomed their first child, a son, in February 2025 while stationed in Italy.
